Commentary:
Come Sunday, which features Bic Runga on drums and Canadian
singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith on backing vocals, is one such delight.
The guitar jangles away slowly like a Byrds song on valium, Runga whacks
the drums like a carpenter banging home nails, and Gregg raises his endearingly
shaky voice to the rafters with Sexsmith beside him to prop it up where required
- it's a hit.

"Ex-Mutton Bird man with guests Ron Sexsmith, Bic Runga,
David Long...
Marshmallow is the vehicle for the songs of Alan Gregg. Alan was the original
bass player in New Zealand band the Mutton Birds. He played on all four studio
albums by the band and contributed a few songs along the way. One of these
songs, 'Come Around' from the album 'Envy Of Angels' was the only Mutton Birds
song to receive extensive radio play while the band was based in the UK.
After leaving the Mutton Birds in 1999 Alan went on to tour extensively in the
USA, UK, Europe, Australia and New Zeland with Bic Runga. In 2000 he produced
the second Stereo Bus album 'Brand New'.
During the course of the making of this album several other musicians became
involved. To mention just a few:
Bic Runga plays drums on the song 'Anytime Soon' and sings on 'Snow' and 'Over
And Done'.
Respected Canadian singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith adds backing vocals on
'Anytime Soon' and 'Come Sunday'.
Former Mutton Bird guitarist and NZ Producer of the year David Long plays guitar
on several songs.
'Anytime Soon' also features Andrew Claridge on guitar, who played with
Garageland for a while when they were in England.
Engineer Sam Gibson (Neil Finn, Bic Runga) mixed the album at Chapel Lane
Studios in Hereford, England.
Marshmallow is a classic album with lovely catchy melodies and cleverly
infectious lyrics."
