A Bic of Alright

New Zealand's had some awesome acts make it in Australia and internationally over the years, but the country's latest femme raver is something else again.

Bic Runga is currently the golden girl of the new Zealand charts, having steam rolled her way into the number one position on that country's top forty with her debut elpee, Drive.

There's a slight tinge of Alanis and Sheryl about the tiny, absolutely gorgeous hit maker, but she's sexier, spunkier, and her music's a whole lot wilder.

Bic writes her own songs, sings 'em and plays a pretty mean guitar. On her current single Sway, Ms. Runga sings up a storm, and I have no doubts the single will be a hit in London where she is gaining a lot of attention. Indeed, last night she performed at London's famous Borderline club, and let me tell you folks, she was pure dynamic bliss.

Watch out for Bic Runga.
