All In The Family - Boh
Thirty (something) year old Boh is the eldest sister in the Runga family, and a musician herself. Boh is lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for the kiwi band Stellar* (www.stellar.co.nz) which released it's debut album, Mix, in 2000. Says Boh, of performing in a band with three other males: "Being in this band is the most fun a girl can have with three boys without money changing hands. Even though I am an honorary boy, they still look after me when I've had a few too many". On growing up with Bic, Boh says: "She used to get me into trouble all the time. I never used to want to play with her, younger sister and all that. She always went complaining to our Mum and Dad. "Daaad, Boh won't play with me!"...."Play with your sister!". Thats why we aren't in the same band." And on singing together as kids: "Constantly. Even wrote songs together, taped them, then would wipe over them in case the parents would find them. Some of them were pretty rude". And on the difference between Bic's music and Boh's: "She is an amazingly gifted songwriter, and has a very captivating voice. I think she is a great artist, and will be a great success worldwide. One day we may write together. That would be wild". The above content was obtained from, and is

16 January, 2006 Boh to perform new Stellar* album material at Auckland Zoo
Award-winning singer-songwriter Boh Runga, with special guest Nathan King, get the series off to a stellar start on Saturday 21 January. Both these artists, who have songs featured in APRA's "Top 100 New Zealand Songs of All Time", will be performing material from their respective upcoming new albums. Fresh from working on the much-anticipated third album from stellar*, Boh Runga lends the only female voice to the series, which runs until March.
Nathan King, lead singer of the former smash hit Kiwi band Zed, takes the stage after acoustic brother duo Chris and Graham Sanders, to perform an acoustic set of new songs from his upcoming solo album. Some old Zed favourites could also be featured in his line-up!
This performance will be part of the Auckland Zoo 'Zoo Music' series of concerts over summer. The lush and intimate surrounds of Auckland Zoo again play host to New Zealand's hottest bands this summer, during seven fantastic concerts in the Coca-Cola ZooMusic series (Saturday 21 January to Sunday 5 March 2006).

Boh on Christmas The lead singer of Stellar will be on the road touring this Christmas, quite likely stuck in a hotel. "We will probably buy each other pathetic $5 presents and get some kind of spongy pud from the supermarket. It'll be fine. "We are not really a Christmassy family, anyhow. We [she and her ex-boyfriend] always arranged an orphans' Christmas. I open my house up for people who have got nowhere to go. "We used to go mussel picking [as children] ... It was the best time to chill out and go fishing." From an NZ Herald article 14 November, 2001.
