Bic Runga may be making waves in Europe, but the Paris-based singer/songwriter is surely looking forward to returning to New Zealand this month to play the Acoustic Church Tour, which will take place in Parnell's Holy Trinity Cathedral on April 23-24.

Bic, however, won't be making any plans to set down too many roots as she works towards her eagerly awaited third album.

"I can probably write anywhere but if I get too comfortable, I don't really do much, except, you know, swan around and drink coffee," she laughs. "I love Paris. It's really just starting to get good because I've just started to learn French. When the language comes a little easier, that's when you really go below the surface of the place."

The Acoustic Church Tour is inspired by the acoustic gig Bic played last year at London's fabulous Union Chapel and will take place in churches around New Zealand that have "great acoustics and cool pulpits". However, considering the record breaking sales of her two albums to date, Bic - who will be accompanied by Ben Maitland and supported by Aussie Tim Guy - will surely be preaching to the converted.
