Review by "Chris_Wales" from Bic Runga Official Messageboard: "This was the first show I have seen at this venue, it had a cosy feel and made for a pleasant night. I was surprised to find a large queue waiting outside ten minutes before the doors opened, it seems that Bic has a high level of support in the midlands.David Meade’s set was good, I didn’t see his performance in Birmingham so I wasn’t too sure what to expect but I found it very enjoyable. David broke a guitar string just before his last song, so he said that he would play the final song “Keith Richards style” which was rather amusing. Bic’s set was much the same as the Birmingham gig. She came on stage and played When I See you Smile and a cover of Last Kind Word Blues unaccompanied. The band joined her for rest of the set, most of which came from Beautiful Collision apart from another cover Wild is The Wind and Sway, she then played the final song Drive unaccompanied. A number of the audience included myself where sat on the floor in front of the stage. Bic commented on how it looked like a “regular little love in” it was a great way to watch the show, but certain parts of my body were still reminding me of the experience the next day. Then she asked “So what happens in Leicester” which was met with a rather embarrassing silence, up until a few years ago Leicester was the centre of the rag trade in the UK but now most of our clothing comes from Asia, so not a lot does go on in Leicester. Bic then said that she had asked that question when playing a gig in Edinburgh and someone shouted back “a lot of crime”. Bic seemed to be having a great time giving the performance stamping her little foot while playing the keyboard. She didn’t play an instrument during Sway and didn’t seem to know what to do with her left hand and ended up sticking it in her trouser pocket. It was a great night, there were a few problems with PA which I think could have been caused by the rather small stage which they were all squeezed onto."
