Review by Ben from Bic Runga Official Messageboard:

A nice little show tonight. Set in a great big church, gorgeous on the inside having been recently refurbished. High ceilings, lovely acoustics, nice atmosphere. I was seated front row a perfect spot.

Brett Eccles crapped on about the concert series and the state of Bics album on the charts for a while then let her get going. He announced a few more Auckland, and probably Wellington, Christchurch and Tauranga concerts. I sound negative but clearly if the rest of the churches are like this one, he's set up a bloody awesome tour - full credit where its due.

Bic played the first couple of songs acoustic solo, then played the rest with 'Box Car Benny' who played both acoustic and electric guitar.

Set:

When I see you smile (acoustic solo)
Bursting through (acoustic solo)
Be all and end all (Two acoustic guitars w/ BCB)
Get some sleep (Bic acoustic, BCB electric)
Something Good (Bic acoustic, BCB electric)
Ne miquette pas (sorry bout the spelling) (BCB on electric guitar, Bic singing, not playing)
Drive (solo electric)

I think that info is right, correct me anyone if I'm wrong.

The lighting was nice, especially when she was backlit from behind and cast a huge shadow.

All in all a short but very sweet little concert. Bic quite appropriately sung like an angel. It goes without saying that I can't wait to see her again when the tour proper begins.
