Live Appearances New Zealand Tour, 2004 Bic Runga The Acoustic Church Tour New Zealand April/May 2004 In London in July last year, Bic played an acoustic gig at the Union Chapel in Islington. A beautiful 18th century church, it was a truly memorable show – a flawless performance from a heavenly voice in inspiring surrounds. Bic immediately wanted to take the concept to a national tour of New Zealand, so we spent the second half of last year scouring the nation to find beautiful churches with great acoustics, cool pulpits and loads of leadlight. Bic Runga, accompanied by Ben Maitland, will tour New Zealand with a unique, intimate acoustic show. Bic will be supported by Tim Guy, the Australian singer/songwriter, who Bic has signed to her own record label ‘Nu Shu’ and whose album she has just produced. "You've experienced something utterly magical" THE GUARDIAN LIVE REVIEW Since leaving New Zealand in July 2003 and relocating to Paris, Bic has been very busy touring and promoting the release of ‘Beautiful Collision’ (now 8 x platinum in New Zealand) in the UK, Ireland, Europe and Japan. Radio in all territories for ‘Get Some Sleep’ has been fantastic, achieving Top 10 status in Japan and Ireland to date. And the UK have been raving about ‘Beautiful Collision’….. ‘This young New Zealander should shortly explode in the way that Travis or David Gray did. By the time you hear her name again, Beautiful Collision will have sold a couple of million." MOJO BEST OF 2003 CHART ‘One of the loveliest collections of songs in recent history - 5 STARS" UNCUT ALBUM REVIEW NB. There will be an invitation only media gig in an Auckland church at a secret location on April 5th – more details to come. Bic Runga is proud to be a patron of the Raukatauri Music Therapy Centre in Auckland.
