Anyone who's listened to Bic's first album "Drive" would understandably be hanging out for the 'difficult second album" and it's truly been worth the wait. All the good bits are still there; beautiful songs, great melodies and harmonies, that sweet voice, all coupled with a more mature production and a few "name" players.

Overall the lashings of studio time spent in L.A., New York, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Bic's home studio have given this album a lushness and depth that obviously contrasts with the rougher sound of her debut album. The complexity of the songs too has increased along with the orchestration and vocal decorations; all good though and part of a more musically mature Bic; somehow she manages to sound modern yet slightly 60's psychedelic all in one lovely flow.

The tracks themselves, a mix between ballad, soft rock with odd influences such as harmonica, double bass, a Wurlitzer courtesy of Neil Finn, a banjo and a country waltz backing. Throw in guitars courtesy of Dave Dobbin and Bic's trademark voice, and song structures and the whole mix comes across as almost coherent, sometimes almost too "samey" but always very listen-able.

Pick of the tracks are the obvious radio single "Get Some Sleep" but I also loved "Listening For The Weather" and the Bjork-ish title track, in fact there's nothing here I didn't like at first listening, the test will be what I'm, still listening to in a year.
